On 14 October 2026, Google Research announced expanded experimental access to Earth AI's geospatial agent through Ask Google Earth and an Agent-to-Agent service. The update includes a technical report and early partner work. It does not announce unconditional availability in every country or establish that every generated analysis is a verified final answer.
Why a specialist agent is needed
The preprint, submitted on 11 October, describes a system with domain tools and upfront planning. GeoKTools uses tasks with verifiable solutions, while GeoExpertQueries compares actions with expert workflows through automated evaluation. This distinction matters: following an appropriate sequence is not equivalent to independently establishing a correct final answer. The study comes from the system's authors.
Separate documentation for the current Ask Google Earth describes an experimental English-language web implementation for specified regions. Bulgaria is not listed. Query and result limits apply. That page should not be treated as proof that the new early A2A access has identical conditions; availability needs confirmation for the particular channel being used.
A map can conceal different assumptions
In our hypothetical example, a municipality is looking for buildings suitable for a public service. Buildings, roads and population can appear on one map without describing the same point in time. An outdated road connection or incomplete building record could change the conclusion. A useful analysis identifies the origin and date of each layer.
The meaning of proximity matters just as much. Straight-line distance and an actual travel route can produce different candidate lists. If the question does not specify the intended criterion, a confident ranking might appear helpful while answering a different task. This is our analytical example, rather than a defect we have established in Earth AI.
The plan creates an opportunity to check
We would ask for a clear account of input data, selected operations and missing information. An expert can inspect that trail, challenge a substitute for a local dataset and check whether the final list follows the original request. The plan has practical value even when a result needs correction.
For a pilot of our own, we would choose a small area with known examples. Some buildings should qualify and others should be excluded under a clear rule. We would then change one assumption and compare the outcome. This produces a concrete behavioral check without treating a visually persuasive map as sufficient evidence.
From research to an organizational decision
Deployment also requires a decision about which data may be shared. The location of a sensitive facility or a private list does not become appropriate for external processing merely because an interface accepts a file. For an actual project, the organization needs to verify its agreed terms, permitted recipients and method for correcting erroneous information used in an analysis.
SIExpo has not obtained early access, uploaded its own geospatial data or reproduced the benchmark. The development is about a more inspectable organization of spatial tasks. Practical value must be established through current data, traceable operations and expert assessment, keeping the research prototype distinct from a finished operational decision.
