The announcement of 7 October
OpenAI announced wider GPT‑6 access in ChatGPT alongside Intelligent UI: answers that can contain diagrams, forms and tools people use directly. The company described a phased rollout in Chat, starting with paid plans and subsequently extending to Free and Go. This special-edition story reviews the announcement of 7 October rather than presenting it as a new release today.
Where the interactive interface works
OpenAI's supporting documentation says Intelligent UI supports Instant through Extra High reasoning. The Pro option powered by Astra does not support it. It is available in Chat, rather than Work or Voice, and ordinary text answers remain possible. Some components can retain state after refreshing a conversation, but not across different conversations.
Our editorial perspective
Interactivity can make a relationship easier to explore. A polished visual, however, does not establish that its input data are correct. The useful test is whether readers understand the assumptions and can compare the outcome with the original evidence. Availability should be checked in the individual account.
