Local events rather than a single conference
In an October 30 post, Google Developers describes DevFest 2026 as a Google Developer Groups event series running from October 1 through December 31. The emphasis is building, securing and scaling in the era of AI agents. Local communities organize individual programs, so dates, formats and sessions need to be checked separately for each event.
Google describes an expected scale of more than 800 events across 115 countries and almost a million attendees. Those are the organizer's figures for the series, not a final attendance audit independently confirmed by SIExpo. The official directory provides a starting point for finding a specific local edition.
Choosing a useful AI workshop
Putting the word agent in a program does not establish what an attendee will learn. Our editorial recommendation is to look for a concrete outcome: a working example, an explanation of its limits and a way to repeat the exercise afterward. Where cloud resources are involved, account requirements, permissions and possible costs should be clear.
Imagine a session about an assistant that drafts responses from workplace documents. A useful demonstration would show not just a correct answer, but a missing document, inappropriate access and a question without enough evidence. This is an editorial selection criterion, not a promise that every DevFest session includes that exact scenario.
It is reasonable to ask whether sample material and configuration notes will remain available. Being able to rebuild the exercise later is more useful than briefly seeing it succeed on the presenter's machine.
From a prototype to a maintained application
A small working example is a valuable first step. A team planning a persistent service still needs to decide who monitors it, who reviews changes and what happens after a failed action. A workshop can introduce methods and tools without resolving those decisions for a particular organization.
Attendees can record versions, input data and expected behavior. Repeating the exercise with changed inputs then shows whether the outcome remains acceptable. That turns the lesson into a testable skill rather than a remembered sequence of clicks.
What we checked
We read the dated announcement and the official DevFest and developer-community pages. We have not separately verified a Bulgarian local schedule, available seats or the terms of every event, and do not advertise them as guaranteed.
For developers, the opportunity is to find practical learning during the remaining part of the series. Selection should follow the actual task, whether local models, a web interface or a reliable cloud service. The most useful event is one after which participants can reproduce, measure and explain what they learned.
